Rev. Isaac Shaw

Isaac is currently the Executive Director of Delhi Bible Institute. He has been on the staff since 1983 in various positions. He was encouraged to join the ministry by the founder, Robert Duff, who trained and mentored him for 18 years. He is also the Senior pastor of Bible Bhavan Christian Fellowship where he has been involved in leadership since 1982.

He graduated with BA Honours in English Literature from the Delhi University, and later completed an MA in English Literature.

He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of 10 through the ministry of his grandfather who later baptized him. He is bilingual with proficiency in English and Hindi. His ministry has a clear focus on North India.

He is married to Gloria Ojeda who was born in Bogotá, Colombia. She comes from a Catholic background, and was educated in Egypt, Ireland, Lebanon and Israel. She graduated from Appalachian State University in North Carolina where she was involved with Campus Crusade for Christ. She currently leads ministries among Indian and Spanish speaking
women.

Isaac and Gloria have four children, twin daughters, Gloria Raquel and Myriam Elizabeth (born 1994), Sarah (born 1997) and Isaac (born 2000).

Delhi Bible Institute

Delhi Bible Institute, located in New Delhi, the capital city of India, has been spreading the Gospel message since 1954 through its Bible teaching and training ministry. For the past 50 years, DBI has trained over 4,000 students and pastors, and has planted over 2,000 churches throughout North India, one of the most unreached parts of the world.

The purpose of Delhi Bible Institute is to reach North India with the teachings of Jesus Christ and to serve the evangelical church in North India by training its leaders through various levels of theological education programs. Our educational programs are based upon the authority of the inerrant Word of God – the Bible, and the most biblical resources and curriculum. Delhi Bible Institute is a mission arm of the church, and we believe that our purpose is to further the planting of bible-preaching churches throughout the vast population of North India.

With a rich past, we look forward to a future of continual ministry in the farthest corners of North India. As the Lord allows, we are pursuing the extension of our ministry through multiplying the training centers from one (in Delhi) to eventually twelve – in all state capitals of North India, and one for the Nepali world. Since 2005, we have witnessed the opening of two of these twelve new centers – one in the city of Dehradun, capital of the state of Uttarakhand (formerly named Uttaranchal), and one in Lucknow, capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh – the largest state in India. By multiplying the centers for training, we can better reach students seeking to be equipped, more effectively minister to all of North India directly, and more meaningfully serve the church of Christ already ministering in these areas.

A key focus of DBI is to train and equip church planters and pastors from the rural parts of North India, where 80% of Indians live. Many of the students coming to DBI would never have the resources or “qualifications” to pay for a graduate-level education, yet they are willing and eager to be trained, and DBI is seeking to meet that demand.
