Where everyone is someone and Jesus Christ is Lord!
The Joy Foundation is a Christian Charity that supports over 20 primary schools in and around Lincoln.
The Foundation seeks to be ‘salt and light’ to the children in these schools by showing them Jesus through words and actions.
The Joy Foundation has the privilege of leading Collective Worship at these schools on a very regular basis and this is the core of their work. All of these are Bible-based and linking in with school ethos, seeking to help lay a foundation of Christian values in children’s lives.
They also provide many lessons that speak of or live out Christian values in a range of curriculum areas such as RE, PSHE, Philosophy and PE. Extra-curricular clubs are also well attended and provide an opportunity to provide more beneficial input.
The Joy Foundation also has a wonderful team of volunteers who provide Bible-based workshops for schools, exploring topics such as ‘What is so special about the Bible?’, Easter and Christmas. They also provide other services to schools, such as governors, speakers for special events and curriculum support for teaching staff. There is also a growing demand to provide training for Collective Worship for both schools and church workers.
Andy Housam is the Project Manager and Helen Pennington is the Schoolsworker, both of whom are experienced primary teachers. The Joy Foundation is connected with a wide variety of Christian churches across the Lincoln area, that provide financial, prayer and voluntary support. The Trustees and Steering Group members are drawn from these churches.
