Hope Explored looks at the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke’s Gospel, this three-session series shows that Christianity is about real hope: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about my present.

Hope Explored does not require a huge time commitment from guests and is one of the easiest ways to introduce someone to Christianity. The Christianity Explored series can then be run as a follow-up course for those eager to explore the Christian faith more.

What goes on?

The structure of each session is simple: a short Bible study, a talk (you can give your own using our talk outlines or use our films) and a discussion based on the talk. This series includes picture prompts to help aid discussion at the beginning of each session.

You’re welcome to stick around a bit longer for a coffee to discuss any further issues you might have. You can ask any question you want, at any time during the course.

Can I pull out if I want to?

There is no pressure if you want to pull out of the course.

How much does the course cost?

Nothing.

Do I have to bring anything?

No, all course materials are provided.

Is it ‘churchy’?

It’s an informal group discussion, not a church service: there’s no praying or singing and you won’t be asked to read out loud.

Am I going to get preached at?

Each week there will be a talk or DVD which will explain an aspect of Christian belief and will hopefully stimulate discussion. We aim to make the evening enjoyable but also challenging. Group leaders will facilitate discussions and try to answer any questions.

Do I have to speak in the group?

Not if you don’t want to. You are welcome to come and just sit and listen.

Send us an email if you have any other questions.
