This year our guest speaker is Elinor Magowan who will be bringing us three sessions from the book of Philippians. It is possible to know joy even in difficult circumstances. The apostle Paul did – and so can we. Joy is not the same as happiness and yet it is a deep-rooted emotion that should fill the heart and mind of every believer and shape the way we live and relate to others. Paul writes about joy in his letter to the Philippians, often called the “Letter of Joy”. He describes the joy he experienced and the joy he wanted the Philippian believers to know. As we meet together, pray that we will grow in our understanding of this joy – joy in Christ. May our time together lead to changed lives and a deeper experience of true Christian joy.

Elinor is one of FIEC’s directors for Women’s Ministry and is at Hope Church Woodley, a church plant from Carey Baptist Church in Reading.

All sessions will be suitable for secondary school aged girls and above.
